Three Key Elements of how I support students
1. Use of proven Multisensory Programs:
My therapy is structured, systematic, explicit, and multisensory. Lessons are taught step by step, with regular review, so students learn how sounds, letters, and words work together to build strong reading and spelling skills.
I have extensive experience using evidence-based programs designed to support students with reading and spelling difficulties, including dyslexia : Take Flight, Wilson Reading System, and Esperanza.
2. Personalized Support:
I provide one-on-one instruction that targets your child’s emotional and literacy needs, fostering growth, resilience, and reading confidence.
3. Engaging Technology:
In my sessions students use interactive tools to boost engagement and reinforce learning. Practice activities are send home to reinforce concepts learned in class.
Why choose a Certified Academic Language Therapist?
A CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapist) holds a master’s degree, has completed an intensive two-year program, and has accumulated 700 clinical hours before passing a national certification exam through ALTA (Academic Language Therapy Association). Many CALTs also hold the designation of LDT (Licensed Dyslexia Therapist). CALTs have an in-depth knowledge of English structure (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and orthography) and are uniquely qualified to provide therapy that builds strong foundations in reading accuracy, fluency, comprehension, spelling, and written expression. Importantly, a CALT is the only professional level qualified to deliver Take Flight, Wilson, or Esperanza therapy.
